I see my paintings as a way of composting images,  things I notice in the world and things that come from somewhere inside. I take them apart and put them back together in a different way.

I’m interested in what happens when I squint my eyes and shapes start to blur and merge. In things that aren’t fully visible.
What’s behind me, in reflections, in shadows, or just at the edge of vision.

I think of painting as a way of dealing with what I can see and what I can’t fully grasp.

Some motifs have been following me for a long time. They keep coming back, changing a bit each time, sometimes almost the same, but never completely. They’re rarely realistic, more like traces or impressions than actual things.
